As a person who likes to collect books and read them, I would really say that the World Wide Web isn't the best place for research due to unscholarly websites (like I would only trust official encyclopedia websites) or two, you don't always have access to the Internet though and that tool should be used to promote the library. I've begun using some electronic books but I do have my problems with them like the bugs they suffer, I really hate dragging my fingers across a mobile device's screen to read, I have better attention focus when reading on paper, I type my notes then print them than use my laptop (which has LOTS of games) to study to avoid distraction. E-books are beneficial for those on vacation but never for those studying. I tally my books, I cherish my books, I get a bookshelf and grab a book to study or enjoy because I don't want to risk having too much radiation in my eyes (I'm nearsighted!) while I get e-books so at least I have something to read when I'm on the plane or waiting for the boat to dock in my destination. However what I don't like about e-books is the absence of pages numbers which makes it easier for me to quote words of wisdom (like I can say page x, chapter x...) rather than an entire e-book makes it difficult to find it or two, they do suffer from lag times and I hate scrolling through with a mouse for long periods of timer rather than flip the pages that were a result of the work of Microsoft Word or any office editing software. I don't say e-books are evil, I'm a fan of e-books it's just that they are just alternatives, never replacements to the good old library no matter how high tech the library can be now. It may have PCs for the catalogs and to do assignments but never the books should be replaced electronically. I don't rely on everything electronic, I mix both the old and the new methods because not everything modern works well. It's not everywhere there's Internet or electricity so books are so necessary because without them, you can't install your PC or learn to use it!
