It does become an issue that slackers in High School who refuse to change their ways. I was pretty much a slacker in High School but I decided to stop slacking in College or wasting my time. Now just a thought on how these Filipino students could show their "nationalism" in these various ways:
.) They never attend classes regularly. They can tell their teacher you've got some "disorder" even when it's not present, even women can say they have their period ALL the time even when the teacher is a woman herself. Sheesh. How stupid. Isn't it any wonder why they're at the drop listers? Hmmm and I just thought that some Filipinos who succeeded aren't very many not because of stupidity but because I should credit it to laziness.
.) When they are asked to contribute, they don't contribute. Instead they say those phrases like say, "Ay I don't know this." and "Ai I don't know that." type of talk which irritates me. When it comes to group work, they will prioritize their stupid stuff like Kris Aquino or if Miley Cyrus comes to town, they'll attend whatever leisure activity will come over their important activities. I doubt it their local heroes like Darna, Gagamboy, Volta or Captain Barbell would do that even if these characters are plain fiction!
.) With the issue of female students, they don't study well and can rely on an American guy to get your income and say, "Mom after all I have an American boyfriend to support me." ignoring the fact they could be dumped anytime. Well then, on the side of male students they may resolve to sugar mommies too. Boy, even with a rich boyfriend/girlfriend that money is NOT infinite. This is the real world.
.) They can be very materialistic even when they really don't have much money. They could pressure their parents to buy them stuff they don't really need like a PSP or a PS Vita or even worse, Apple products they don't really need just to show off that they are "rich" even when they are not. They will do anything to make sure everything is "American" to show how "nationalistic" they can be. Boy I've lived through life not having any of those expensive stuff, they're not necessary for me to live anyway. But they are so materialistic they have lots of debts to pay!
.) They may borrow a lot of money from their friends especially the richer ones or purchase in credit and never pay. They can borrow a lot and never pay it back so they can satisfy their stupid cravings like their DOTA addiction (no offense DOTA players but sadly a lot of students skip their studies for DOTA!). Isn't it any wonder why fights happen so often?
.) They're frequently late. That's right- they can be too late for the first subject, too early for the next! Then they say, "Hey are you Filipino or not? If you like being punctual, go to a Communist country." They have the wrong notion of freedom after all and the term "Filipino time" itself is erroneous- not being on time is better called as "tardy time" NOT Filipino time.
.) They can be very wasteful with food. Order a lot and not finish it. Wow, isn't it any wonder why scarcity is very real?
.) When the schools get strict, they are most likely to join useless activist groups when they should be STUDYING. Sheesh what's their problem? They want to get rid of the competent schools that make real good rules for a no rules society? Society CANNOT survive without rules!
Looking at this, they definitely aren't doing any good to the Philippines!
