Satirical News: Jover Laurio Launches New Book "Pinoy Ako Blog: How To Blog Against A Dictator"

Rappler CEO and founder, Maria Ressa, had won several awards. Ressa had been one of the many principal sponsors of the wedding of Jover Laurio of Pignoy Ako Blog. Ressa's win of the Nobel Fish Fries last year, the Golden Pen of Freedom Award in 2018, and the Emmy Awards this year inspired Laurio herself to write a book called Pinoy Ako Blog: How to Blog Against a Dictator. A new book was released out of the blue.

Ressa conducted a one-on-one interview with Laurio. Laurio also said to Ressa in the interview, "I am truly inspired by your mountains of awards. I'm sure supporters of Duterte and Marcos Jr. are now crying tears of blood. I couldn't thank you enough for having me nominated for the Nobel Fish Fries. I even had the support of the World Association of Newspapers. Amar Clooney even called my new book a masterpiece. I'm also thankful for your editing of my work." Ressa was said to be impressed with the way Laurio talked about her new book.

The book Pinoy Ako Blog: How to Blog Against a Dictator is pretty much an update to Resibo: Pinoy Ako Blog. The original book is planned to be phased out in favor of this updated edition. There are forewords written by Ressa and Clooney themselves. The Nobel Foundation even called Laurio a true freedom fighter. Others who will be nominated with Laurio are actor Coconuts Martin, Antonio Trillanes IV, and Representative Sarah Jane Elgago.

The book was launched in SM Mandaluyong. The book will be sold either as a giveaway to Ressa's latest book How to Fight a Dictator or can be purchased separately. However, during the press conference, the whole event was heckled. Ressa was soon forced to confront questions about her cyber-libel case. Laurio tried to defend Ressa only to faint after that. The press conference was cut short as Ressa herself drove Laurio over to the Patrick Star Hospital. Laurio was confirmed to have fainted but was not in critical condition.

Later, Stephen Sackur commented on Twitter, "This is such a courageous move. The two Marias. Now let's rewatch this video." Sackur later re-linked his interview with Ressa done on BBC years ago. The video gained one million likes in a day. The video was played at the Patrick Star Hospital causing Ressa to cringe while waiting for Laurio's treatment to be done.
