Well I hardly write about Power Rangers since I'm not really a huge fan of it though I respect it as the series that gave Toei bucks from the U.S. But here are some factors that can cause my fandom with Power Rangers to go up and down, puh-lease don't even ask my Super Sentai blog to be a place for immature haters like Arnold and Risky. Now moving on... I'd like to share my thoughts why my Power Rangers fandom can shake with ups and downs.

The overextended Zordon arc. I'd say that while it seemed good for me that MMPR was getting extended beyond 40 episodes (back then I was ignorant of the existence of finales, screw those TV stations that never let us see the ending!), however it did get worse and recycling too much. In fact 150 episodes of MMPR and all just getting pointless causing erosion of storyline. Some of these erosion effects are like for example the forced departure of Thuy Trang, Austin St. John and Walter Emmanuel Jones in season two and in season three was Amy Jo Johnson's departure (but a nine episode arc was created prepared for her leaving). Zeo came and it had one of the worst moves ever- the very OOC Dear John letter. Power Rangers Turbo was one bad season. Power Rangers in Space is very messy I'd rather watch Megaranger. Sideline: later on, I just endured the pointless storytelling by just adoring Kimberly and later cried over the Dear Joe letter! For one thing also, Zordon's an idiot to choose teenagers with attitude randomly- Seelon had a better reason for the Turborangers. If you ask me, Peebo had a better answer to Mika to why she was chosen to be a Bioman. If Trini tried to run away from the team, Alpha Five won't have a good answer to why she was chosen.
The existence of useless characters. We've had Bulk and Skull (who appeared from MMPR up to PR in Space), Professor Phenomenus (who's just a live version of Calamitous) and later we had Boom in SPD as well as Cassidy and Devin in Dino Thunder. In PR Samurai, Bulk returns meeting his supposed nephew Spike (looks like Skull married Bulk's sister!) who was just there for being there. That really annoys me a lot. Ugh... I hope PR Megaforce doesn't do that!
So Power Rangers in Space ended the otherwise dragging Zordon era. So comes Power Rangers following the Super Sentai tradition of new cast per season starting with Lost Galaxy up to present. Judd Lynn came in to produce quality scripts though thanks to TV-Y7-FV he just can't add all that drama in Super Sentai =(. Now moving on, Lost Galaxy was a nice start for the Power Rangers franchise though it does feel more like Flashman than Gingaman or mixes some Space Sheriff elements. But overall, the execution of Gingaman is still better. Judd Lynn also wrote Lightspeed Rescue and Time Force. Don't forget he wrote PR in Space's conclusion. Jonathan Tzachor wrote Wild Force and did a decent job though not as good as planned, though later he screwed up with Power Rangers Samurai.
The Disney era came. So not yet the dork age as Ninja Storm for me is still a decent season even if I'd watch Hurricanger for Nanami but Tori's still pretty. Ninja Storm and Dino Thunder were still good seasons, though personally I find Dino Thunder a little bit annoying thanks to Cassidy and Devin, plus I found Tommy's return to be a reason why the show is overrated. When Bruce Kalish came, ugh... it was a very bad time for me. SPD was decent for some, it was later dubbed in Japan by the Dekaranger cast (though I'd say Ban would totally kick Jack's ass!). Power Rangers RPM for me was one season I disliked due to its setting, that's just me that I'd rather watch Go-onger and if Gobusters had RPM's type of setting, it would have one more reason for me to drop that show.

So Saban did return, hoping to make Power Rangers better again. But in the case of Power Rangers Samurai, I'd say they aren't able to handle the Asian themes well. I mean, it's inexcusable to have the thought of "It's too Japanese." I mean come on, Ninja Storm was able to be a decent Hurricanger adaptation! Power Rangers Samurai was a really bad season as if it was written by Richard Brown in Shinkenger- he randomly chooses his cast, treats them like they are Japanese when they are not and just plain lazy copy/paste rather than doing it like Ninja Storm did. Okay they do have an Asian sensei, since there's no Asian red ranger (still will work with a good plot!) why in the world is Jayden treated like he's Japanese?! Overall, PR Samurai sucks eggs a lot that Bulk and Spike went to Japan to meet the Shinkengers. Hopefully Megaforce will recover Saban's return. But warning to Saban- stick to Power Rangers and avoid making ny more adaptation decays that will blast you out.
Overall, I still respect Power Rangers while being a greater fan of Super Sentai. Now while I wanted to write my Samurai Sentai Shinkenger vs. Power Rangers Samurai parody crossover, it may never come to existence due to the fact that I don't like PR Samurai at all, that show is BLAND AWFUL!
