Many Of My Old Shames Will Be Gone Soon?

I was thinking about it that I tend to be putting too much value on myself (which is why I blow up whenever I'm told about something wrong that I do or just did). Just compare it to the scene where Galvatron (post movie) ended up believing that he was invincible when he isn't. I decided that some old shames are better off gone for a reason. There's no reason for me to be proud of my bad work especially if they were a result of self-indulgence and lack of badly needed self-control! But there's other reasons why I'm really thinking of getting rid of my old shames aside from valid criticism towards it (such as that I love to play extreme favoritism and not being honest to myself about my dislikes) -- there's also the present to take care of. In fact, why should I even bother writing about something too much when I really didn't like something? Why am I allowing myself to be bothered by childish quarrels on the Net and in real life -- thus I end up becoming...

Perhaps That One Line In Lion King 2 That Means A Lot

It's sickening of how often we bring up great fathers when the sons are nowhere near their fathers. If there's anything that you NEVER inherit it's the experience. Fathers and sons will never be the same person. Sometimes, a father who's good in English but weak in Math can have a son who's the other way around. That 's the problem in society today -- we keep raising up the great fathers while the children stay behind in the shadows. It still echoes into my head whenever Kiara tells Simba, "You will NEVER be Mufasa." Did that mean Simba wasn't a great king? No, Simba was trying to be his father than be a great king. But another sad echo is shown that Mufasa's spirit wants the fight between the Pride Rock and the Outlanders to end. Simba just wants to continue that feud out of hatred for his uncle Scar. The second movie was rightfully called Simba's Pride because pride was killing him. This always brings the sad reality. The crown is...

The Stupidity Of Suing A Critic For His Or Her Opinion!

When I thought about the anti-cybercrime law a few years back, I am afraid that law could really spiral out of control.  With that libel clause inserted, I already thought that how it was defined refused to tell the difference between NEGATIVE OPINION vs. LIBEL/SLANDER.  As a person who has the tendency to be so touchy and not to mention, the occasional bootlicker and approval addict, I thought it was good until I saw the kind of trouble that it would develop. Now let's think about our DIFFERENT opinions.  Now let's say it's me vs. Sentai Bandicoot and we have different opinions and criticisms.  Now let's just say that I offer him criticism on his Gingaman review on Herotaku and he offers me criticism on my Jetman review on JEFusion like let's say, things we both believe each other lacked.  Like he'd say, "Sean, you're being too repetitive." or I'd say, "Sentai Bandicoot I feel you need to elaborate more."  We can also name a situa...

Recalling The Time I Wanted To Be Considered American

Time came when I was in high school I soon had the desire to be considered American, hating the country of my birth (the Philippines) and the country of my ancestry (China). It was because I started to hate studying Tagalog and later, I simply found traditional (and obsolete) Chinese customs to be just bizarre. No sooner did I have my plan to move to the United States of America (USA) hating my own ethnicity and insisting that I was a white man even if I was obviously Chinese. I tried to sound more with an American accent which made me think... SO MUCH FOR BEING ANTI-AMERICAN  (and I wanted to "return home" to China which is just impossible due to the fact that most of my predecessors were not Chinese citizens but Filipino citizens themselves) before this happened. This was during my teenage to College years. I couldn't help but remember the time I personally boycotted anything Filipino, I wanted to stop eating Filipino and Chinese food and I wanted to focus on American ...

I Just Pre-Ordered Mortal Kombat X For The PS3 A Week Ago!

So much for my so-called butthurt, I finally pre-ordered Mortal Kombat X with a downpayment of PHP 1,000.00 which for me, is much more worth than any live concert which I can afford.  So the date is next month on June 2, 2015 so maybe, it's good I didn't get a PS4 yet even if I can afford (I don't want to be spendthrift).  Meanwhile here's what I am thinking... Pre-ordering means you get to play as the legendary Goro for free and a metal casing at the same time.  So what order bonuses do I get?  Maybe I'm not getting a shirt or a figurine (I don't really care unless it's Liu Kang so I hate Deadly Alliance for not including him), but I can get some freebie downloads.  Playing as a depowered Goro would be fun so I wonder why did Netherrealm decide to make him more of a DLC than a sub-boss you can unlock by normal means?  I still wonder what the reason behind it is... but I'd love to kick ass as Goro anytime soon. Meanwhile, I am thinking of trying ou...

I'm Probably a Kamen Rider "Purist" For Now!

It's a real irony I find myself in.  Back then, I went neutral on Kamen Rider but as of late, I have found myself in a reversal of sorts.  While I am currently backtracking on older seasons of Super Sentai and Power Rangers, I cannot deny that as of late, I am more excited for Kamen Rider Drive than I am for Ninninger. Kamen Rider back then was quite different during the Showa era.  I mean, the Super Sentai villains and Kamen Rider villains had one common denominator that is, the always made typical Tokusatsu stupid, convoluted or just unbelievable plans to take over the world like Gorgom's bee unleashing necklace and that their monsters usually died at the end of the day. Meanwhile the Heisei era of Kamen Riders were more or less written in a soap opera format where monsters usually don't die at the end of the day.  Ryuki was more like a battle royale and it hardly had a monster of the week, instead the next episode usually focused on the build-up of the Rider...

My Silly Opinion On Mei and Kimberly Hart!

While I'm more of a Zyuranger fan as of current and I personally think Zyuranger is miles above its legitimate adaptation Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers, however here's one area that I am pretty much in the sea of self-contradiction.  It's between Mei and Kimberly where I share a different opinion. Okay I saw Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers first (and maybe I'm glad I didn't see Zyuranger horribly dubbed in Tagalog, I mean I really won't want to watch them dubs again after seeing Sentai in its original Japanese)... but I can talk about Mei first now.  I mean, I only saw Zyuranger from start to end last year and MMPR, it's way back when I was still a troubled elementary student. So maybe my memory is more fresh on Mei than Kimberly as of right now.  So what's my latest point?  While seeing Mei, the actress Reiko Chiba-Kirhihara was only 17 years old.  While in paper, Mei is indeed the more-developed, well-rounded character compared to Kimberly b...

Rambling On My Choice Vs. Mr. Smith's Choice On Who's Hotter Than Any Super Sentai/Power Rangers Lady!

Well Mr. Smith is a white American guy and I am an Oriental guy (Chinese by descent), I thought of this event.  I still remembered an old post by Mr. Smith where he in a friendly way, begs to differ over my opinion on Kimberly.  In a later post , he picks Jasmine.  Now I wish me and Mr. Smith can do some exchange of opinions every now and then.  Just a fun post so I won't post it on anything but my personal blog... On Kimberly Hart, it's probably me as a Chinese guy having some attraction towards white girls and yes she is attractive.  Yup, I have noticed how I've been in denial I prefer white girls over Oriental girls appearance-wise.  In my case, I find myself liking pretty brunette girls including my most current love interest.  I thought Mr. Smith prefers Maya over her, I beg to differ for very personal reasons.  While she's in Mr. Smith's list, she's definitely not on top and he thinks she's overrated which I agree.  But his stateme...

I Got That Minor Butthurt That I Got Closed For Mortal Kombat X Pre-Order =P

Well butthurts are always part of life.  I feel quite sad that I got closed for the registration of the Mortal Kombat X pre-order at Data Blitz.  Well it's understandable considering I usually am the type to wait for discounts.  So I always thought about what possibilities could happen especially with jealousies involving the gamers. My first assumed jealousy is that right now, GRRR I am jealous of those who were able to pre-order the game.  Again, I have the money but not the gut to pre-order since I'm a discount freak myself.  Then the second assumed jealousy would be that when a Komplete Edition comes out.  Jealousy is a natural feeling that will be evoked that, "Hey they are now playing the game." then when a Komplete Edition comes out, they might say, "Wow we should have waited." Again, I'm glad I didn't throw a tantrum.  Hahahahahhaha!  XD

The Henshin Con: Way More Reasonably Priced Than The One Direction Event!

Although I regret not being able to go to the Henshin Convention thanks to real life circumstances (I will admit that Red mask and Five Blue are my favorite rangers in their respective shows), but here's what I thought of the practicality between the two events. One Direction's CONCERT tickets were just too expensive and besides, it's just a concert compared to the Henshin Con.  The Henshin Con offers meals and seating for PHP 1,000.00 and PHP 2,500.00 respectively.  If I were to talk about my choice if I had the time, I would go to the Launch Party which prices are lower which is practical because of the principle of utility. For example, if I spent PHP 1,150 on a standing ovation, it would be really stupid compared to if I spent PHP 1,000.00 which has a MEAL and seating.  It would be practical when I think of the following... I would have WAY more pocket money than if I spent it all on a One Direction ticket.  Also a VIP ticket worth PHP 2,500 with a m...

Insane Rant: How I Was Dealing With the After-Effect of Power Rangers Megaforce on Me!

Don't look so happy, you Megaforce Rangers may have even Mega-Hurt the Power Rangers fans! A bad show is a bad show and I'll admit that Kyoryuger and Megaforce were two shows that really SENT me to the dumps.  And ToQGer while it's not entirely bad for me, I just felt like Yasuko Kobayashi had just burnt out or refused to write a good story due to Toei's current management system.  Moving on, the whole season burned me out and... This scene is just totally WTF considering they didn't get ANY plot development!  Then we'll see these guys dating and you'll probably see Daigo and Amy from Kyoryuger with them! I will admit this... Megaforce's super stupid ending makes Judd Lynn's finales and Toshiki Inoue's finales LOOK DECENT though nothing is worse than Ryuki's ending that came out as a result of executive meddling.  Yes, I know Judd Lynn's endings are mostly rushed like Ransik's sudden redemption or how Trakeena was dealt with a...

My Thoughts on Currently Rewatching MMPR Season One

So I'm rewatching some MMPR on Youtube (before Toei and Saban shoots it down) and I'm having some of my memories and discovering my change of opinions: Acting of the cast is okay.  Most of them are starters and yet they can pull out the job.  My only different stance is I prefer Amy Jo Johnson's acting over Reiko Chiba's.  They had the charm for me back in 1993 but lately, I end up rewatching Zyuranger at a faster pace.  That's because for me, Zyuranger had better writing, characterization and execution. Somehow I think MMPR's dubbing of Bandora into Rita was bad voiceover IMO.  Maybe it's because I've seen Zyuranger from start to end AND Soga Machiko does a better job.  So Soga Machiko did re-dub her scenes.  Now what I always thought was that Soga Machiko's acting is way better. As a child, I used to find Bulk and Skull funny but now they are just annoying.  To be honest, Kimberly was just lucky that MMPR is rated TV-Y7-FV OR she might ...

My Crazy Remedy After Power Rangers Mega-Fail and Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger!

No doubt Power Rangers Megaforce was Mega-Fail with bad writing, mostly bad acting (Christina Masterson gets the raspberry award for it) and so on.  I always had a thought I had some crazy remedy after that terrible, terrible hangover.  It was Kyoruger and Mega-Fail... I can agree with Shogo to why Kyoryuger makes dinosaurs glad they're dead .  Moving on, I had some crazy remedy... and well ToQGer is watchable compared to Kyoryuger and Mega-Fail. Due to Power Rangers Megaforce being a season with eye candy but horrid failure and I didn't find the Gokai girls all that eye-pleasing (hehehehe), I rewatched some Samurai Sentai Shinkenger .  Yes the show has far more decent eye candy than Megaforce.  I skipped Samurai for being a cheap knock-off that looks like it was a bootleg film even if... it had the rights. Another remedy I have is watching Abaranger.  I might write a respond article to Shogo soon on the matter.  My planned article is called, "Ab...

I'm Also Rewatching MMPR Season One While Watching Abaranger... SO WHAT?!

As a Super Sentai fan, I am annoyed at the whole Super Sentai/Power Rangers war which I hate to admit it, my thinking with my heart instead of my head made me write the disaster SS vs. PR fic (which I'll use as a time machine from time to time to see my mistakes to avoid them from reaching my other planned fics).  On the other hand, I'm going to say I am rewatching MMPR.  Does that make me a traitor to Super Sentai fandom?  Absolutely not! So I'll admit a thing or two.  I like Zyuranger better than MMPR Season One.  For me, it's much better writing-wise and overall.  There's no questions asked for a Super Sentai fan (but not a die-hard one) that I like Super Sentai more than Power Rangers.  I like Zyuranger better as the superior show.  But does that mean I cannot like Power Rangers?  No, no and no.  Maybe right now I'm neutral on the franchise thanks to Mr. Krabs' current status but, I can still go against its unfair hatred.  I ...

How to Insult a Troll Without Replying At All!

Trolls are a common nuisance in the Internet.  A troll is not necessarily one who uses a pseudonym, some of them even use their real names.  Rather a troll is defined as, "One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument."   Trolling means, "Being a prick on the internet because you can.  Typically unleashing one or more cynical or sarcastic remarks on an innocent by-stander, because it's the internet and, hey, you can."  Today the definition is already on social media, blogs, etc. So how can a troll be insulted without EVER replying to them?  These trolls are KSP or Kulang Sa Pansin meaning "they lack attention".  Here's what can be done: Delete EVERY comment they make if you are the administrator.   These trolls always want to impress everyone with their "smarter than everybody else attitude".  So they start to write comments to irritate ...

The Three Dangers of Flaunting One's Wealth in Public!

So I guess the whole Dingdong/Marian affair hasn't gotten over my head as if I was there to attend the super expensive wedding.  Maybe not.  But it also made me want to write something that may address the whole issue of the dangers of flaunting one's wealth.  The whole wedding of Dingdong and Marian when they became Mr. and Mrs. Dantes was a huge display of wealth.  Huge cake (and I wonder if the taste got compromised) and you can add all the elaborate display, all the road blocks, trying to look like royalty, a PHP 2,000,000.00 wedding gown... it certainly is impractical. It made me think that as a child, I was jealous of people who looked impressive but one may consider reality.  Flaunting one's wealth is a dangerous habit that anybody must avoid.  Okay I'm not just talking about the super rich since wealth means the amount of money you currently have.  Now let's try to talk about the dangers of flaunting one's wealth. It's a huge waste of mone...

After Dingdong and Marian's Wedding... My Former Manservant Enters My Mind!

I remembered the time my former manservant had the obsession with marrying Marian Rivera even if he was already in his 40s, had little or no money and was even caught in the celebrity delusion .  I cannot deny how crazy it was considering he would beg for annulment money which cost around PHP 250,000.00.  When I think about it, the amount of money was quite big.  So he earns at least PHP 2,500.00 a week considering his job wasn't easy.  But here's the reality... when he asked for money that big, here's what he must give up.  He must agree to work without pay for the REST OF HIS LIFE if he asked for that money.  With his financial condition, he has little or no money to pay be back either.  It's a mistake that most people make including myself to just loan somebody without thinking of the risks.  He had his clear lack of common sense because he didn't think of the consequences. I could remember all his silly attempts like write an application to...

Has It Been Some Bad Years for Tokusatsu or Just Age Related?

I can admit turning 30 means a lot of stuff as a single guy.  I am now thinking about how Super Sentai and Power Rangers are as of late.  To cope up with disappointment, Kamen Rider Gaim was a nice retreat with Gen Urobuchi.  Now here's what I'm thinking as of late - Gobusters, Power Rangers Samurai, Kyoryuger, Power Rangers Megaforce/Super Megaforce and ToQGer.  Sad to say but I think I'm already getting bored and I tend to stick with mostly old school. Gobusters was really one season I had high expectations from.  I had positive hopes for the series especially with the return of Yasuko Kobayashi.  I felt like I wanted to watch it knowing it would return back to its serious roots.  But sad to say, the story spun around in circles.  I felt like it was Sentai's own version of Faiz, great potential but bad execution.  You had the first half always focused on protecting Enetron, then we have the Messiah Cards then... I really admit nothing r...

My Decade and A Few Years Feud with A Cousin Who's Like Loki!

Let me tell you the story of a decade and a few years feud with my cousin who's like Loki I refer to him as Loki, the god of mischief.  As a child, he played cruel pranks that when he grew up, he becomes a real con artist and a cruel prankster of malice.  Which of course, I really wanted to get even with him, even to the point of killing him in cold blood. Year after year, he really ruined my vacation.  He always came and ruined my vacation.  I looked forward to vacation but he came, ruining my vacation.  I've had a horrid childhood ever since he came and I wanted to make sure he wasn't born.  He always messed me up.  I tried to make peace with him but the hate was always there.  He always ruined things big time and he was really a menace.  He stole money here and there to finance his shenanigans and his evil witch of a mother always made me the scapegoat for her son. I thought I would get revenge.  Yes, I wanted to end his life for ...

Why I Tend to Loathe Myself...

One thing or another, I am so prone to loathing myself.  It's a huge problem that I am suffering right now because I never did well in school after the first grade, I failed in my attempt to become the world's greatest genius, I was always defeated by those snobs, I was having a difficult time in academics as a teenager... and all these made me create a mask of insecurity.  Yes, a mask of insecurity wanting to hide who I really am, treating like as if it were a deep dark secret.  And I was even thinking that only if I had the perfect brain, I could become better.  So I ended up pretending to be a know-it-all because I know I could never achieve the perfect brain nor in reality, turn myself into a cyborg or even a complete machine.  It's just all science fiction! All that caused me to develop an inferiority complex because my arch-rival who is now a bum, always beat me down.  Sometimes I even imagine he's there, successful and I'm not.  Having an emot...
