Just because something is new doesn't mean it's automatically good. We do have to embrace the new but also reject the new. That is to be careful of what new stuff brings. I remembered 3D TV craze and I tried playing Mortal Kombat (2011) and Tekken Tag Tournament 2 on the PS3 because of the 3D features. At first, it felt cool then I felt dizzy. Not to mention, battery-operated 3D glasses required charging of the battery AND it's heavy. I can't even wear them on top of prescription glasses which I need to read subtitles from afar.  Then an inexpensive alternative came out - just get passive 3D glasses. Since flatscreen TV is the norm then they work in some way. My flatscreen TV at home is dated a few years back. So, I decided to give passive 3D glasses a try and wore them on top of my prescription glasses. The best results were that I was getting a "3D view" from a flatscreen. There's always the mayhem about the Japanese katana to the point that it's exaggerated. Well it's time for the Midautumn Festival to which the celebration commemorates the middle of Autumn. I'll admit, I've only celebrated it with my fellow Tsinoys or Chinos. So what's the Midautumn Festival for you may ask? There are many reasons for the celebration to take place. The celebration started around in the Shang Dynasty and that it was the celebration when the harvest was completed, hence the harvest moon. The celebration gained popularity during the Tang Dynasty and Emperor Xuang Tong popularized the festival, after he supposedly explored the Moon Palace, popularized the festival. Others state that ancient Chinese celebrated the harvest with the moon where they would have family bonding. It was given some political significance when the Han Chinese overthrew the Mongolians during Mid-Autumn, ending their rule and establishing the Ming Dynasty. 

Well here's an interesting person known as Deng Yuanyuan.  I had read about her in Rocket News 24 .  So what do I think about the person based on what I read?  I would like to share a few thoughts about her.  Here's what... she's one type of person that's very hard to find and one to bloom very rarely with this really hot science teacher.   She's hot, hands down but what makes me think she's an interesting person?  So based on the article, she is very good at explaining things which prevents the class from ever sleeping.  That's not very easy to find in anyone.  For one, I would admit I am a writer but not a good speaker.  I tend to bore my classes when I teach (I was a part-time teacher myself) so I started to learn a few basic stuff.  Beauty is just a bonus... the fact she is beauty and brains makes a rare catch for a person.   I will further try to update this post or write a related entry when I can!

Sorry Vitaliano Aguirre Jr. supporters although I do agree that admonition was the best punishment for him BUT Miriam Defensor Santiago though she went overboard, was right in actually scolding the prosecutors who were turning Renato Corona's trial into a huge circus because, that one was utterly and I mean UTTERLY stupid from start to end.  And look at how Judge Marilyn Milian deals with an arrogant law student (actually worse than Aguirre, much worse) in this video. Sadly many Pinoys just can't accept it that they are wrong and you can see that from the common work place to people in power... and fierce tigers are very much needed!  And if you think she is being unreasonable, notice ALL the discourtesy the student did that made the judge go angry!

Well the word jellyfish would create bad ideas into the head but there are varieties that exist in Indonesia, Palau and the Philippines.  In my case, I went to an area in the Philippines called Sohoton Island (it takes one ride by plane then you need to ride by a boat) to which has a rather remote place where it's hard to get a signal on your cellphone... grrrr.  Based on my experience, it was the first time I heard of jellyfish that lost their sting and being able to swim among them was a really different experience. One could try to scoop them up when they float into the surface but remember, please return them to the water ASAP because these are water creatures. There is also the transparent variety though I ran into the brown ones more. While you might think this guy is a fool, he isn't.  These stingless jellyfish are harmless and they are actually a freshwater type.  In my case, I have tried jumping into there and seeing the wondrous gathering of the s...

Just right in, half-Filipino and half-Canadian teenager Ann Makosinski had invented a flashlight that is solely powered by the heat of the hand.  What do I think of this?  This is a real great achievement on her and her alone, not for Canadians, not for Filipinos but her and her alone.  Nothing wrong with them being proud of her as long as the don't ride on her success. Here she is at the Google Science fair.  I hope her invention will soon be improvised as she has started a new trend.  Of course, this is subject to improvement as well.  But still, congratulations to her! This is one touching story from Japan.  Here's what was said in the Facebook page " Japan from Inside ": Yesterday (22nd July) at 09:15am, in Minami-ku, Saitama-Shi JR Minami Urawa station, a 30-year-old lady slipped into the gap between the train and the platform when boarding the Keihin Tohoku line. She was stuck at her waist.   About 40 passengers, both on the platform and from the train carriage, came out to help push the train away from the platform so as to rescue the lady. The lady was later brought to the hospital and was reported to have no significant injuries.   When the incident happened, the train staff made an announcement apologizing that the train has been delayed because someone got stuck in the platform gap. Instead of grudging or complaining about the delay during the rush hour, several train passengers voluntarily got off the train to help the train staff rescue the lady. Within moments, everyone got off their seat to join in the rescue.  ...

Well here's good old retirement... hee hee.  Just made me think that this is one beautiful scenery of old people having a good time and enjoying it.  And in fact despite the gray hairs and wrinkles, they're all still pretty for their age. =)

Geoff Akins is a motivational speaker with an amazing talent for bubbles.  I just thought he teaches children various life lessons and should be a respected person, I do love his bubble tricks in here one way or another.  

I just had my thoughts I'm pretty much thinking of the idea of potted flowers which I could actually remember giving my former love interest who I'm still friends with... I had my thoughts that even if the romance was all over with that Mika Katsumura lookalike, the friendship wasn't.  She does think potted flowers make a better gift over picked ones since they can grow and be propagated. In one way or another, I just thought that simple gifts may create big effects on girls too.  As a guy, I'm not afraid to admit I like potted flowers too.

I was thinking while I pretty suck with cross-stitching (and I pretty lose my patience with it to the point I easily thrash it away) yet this cross-stitch is just plain amazing.  Hmmm... I'll probably do some Photoshop and cross-stitching patterns for people even if I'm not a huge fan of such a hobby.
