Why I Even Wrote An IBC-13 Rant Post In The Super Sentai Blog

Yes, I did it and wrote an IBC-13 rant post after Super Sentai's hiatus , IMHO, it may end up in permanent retirement. If that's true, then Project RED may be what Toei needs as a new business model. Gavan Infinity ended as a 23-episode TV series instead -- like several shows by Toei back in the 1970s to 1980s that never went a full year, like Kamen Rider Amazon . Gavan Infinity's announcement and Super Sentai's possible retirement sent several shocks into my body systems. I was reminded of how my childhood was defined by IBC-13. It was also how IBC-13 was a LIE.  The 1990s were probably the "simpler times". I confess I didn't care too much about the looping schedule. TV was escapism. TV was "life". I thought about how every Jollibee jingle screamed " KIDDIE SHOW SUNDAY! " I remember the time when Kamen Rider BLACK (back then, aired as MASK RIDER BLACK) and Seiiun Machineman were aired back to back on Sundays. I remember the hysteria wh...

Silly Nostalgic Post: How I Felt The Megaforce Girls Unintentionally "Disappeared"

Well, I want to write a weird opinion nostalgia post for the sake of it. Personally, I can't over what I'd call the Power Rangers Megaforce disaster. It plain outright SUCKS that taste fatigue hits every now and then, or are there too many shows on Netflix (and well, Power Rangers got PULLED OUT and I don't really care) to distract me. I'm going to really still hammer a show that's even hammered by the Power Rangers fandom. It's perhaps the biggest anniversary disaster for Power Rangers. Sure, the girls are attractive but they just disappear when you consider going nostalgic (watching or rewatching older shows) or going forward (shows beyond Megaforce ) to actually strike a point. Yup, it just seemed these girls disappeared not because the cast was awful but because they were put in a terribly bad script. I mean, I even felt like Megaforce really ruined its franchise big time! Well, Power Rangers was already going from bad to worse with Disney's era (rushed ...

Crazy Post: My Fictional Childhood Crushes As Far As I Can Remember

I guess it's time to write another crazy post, right? It's time to write some fictional crushes I had as a child. Sure, I was aware they weren't real. But I could say that I really had this weird set of crushes whether they be video games, live-action fiction, and cartoon characters. These aren't in any specific order. I'll cite the show, movie, or game they were in. Without much ado, here they are...  Daphne Blake (mostly older Scooby Doo cartoons) While watching Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo Show (my first exposure to the franchise) - I did find myself secretly attracted to Daphne Blake. Later on, other incarnations of the show with Scrappy Doo (who's sadly, UNFAIRLY hated) later had her nearly taking the title of protagonist over the titular character. The new adventures had her, Scooby, Scrappy, and Shaggy working to solve myseries. I guess she's really that popular in contrast the others in Mystery Inc. She's also often shipped with Freddie though I di...

I Think Zoey Reeves From "Beast Morphers" Is Currently The Hottest Henshin Babe

I was thinking about my OPINION on someone's physical beauty. It's no secret that I'm no fan of Power Rangers and I've been pretending to be a fan, made a bad story I deleted since I have no intention of continuing it. All the while I would still have some positive opinions over a franchise I so dislike since I acknowledge Toei Ltd. is also part of it. Though I tend to dislike Power Rangers because of stuff like the overextension of Mighty Morphin ', the whole "Zordon era", the tendency to rely on direct continuities, Disney's rushed seasons, and the recent really broken schedule of Nickelodeon. Though, this hasn't stopped me from giving quite some opinions (because I watched Power Rangers when there wasn't much to watch) such as thinking that Kimberly is prettier than Mei (and I always will SAY THAT), that it's still unshakable OPINION of mine that Kimberly is hotter than any Super Sentai or Power Rangers babe, and then there's Jacqu...

"Jingle All The Way" Is A Box Office Flop That Somehow Criticizes Stupidity During The Christmas Season

Ahhhh... the 1990s... the time when I was born. I could remember growing up with some stuff that I wanted and don't want now. I could remember how some toy stores have closed down like Gift Gate and Nova Fontana. Now, I want to think about the early 1990s. I could remember those simpler times may not be so simple after all. The movie Jingle All the Way seems to summarize it. I even remembered dreaming of making a video game out of the failed movie one way or another... FOR FUN. It was my crazy fantasy to create a fan game where the player controls Howard in his quest to get the Turbo Man. The line even has Jamie saying, "Anybody who doesn't have a Turbo Man will be a loser!" The chase goes on... right? It seems Jingle All the Way for a failed movie (that had a following similar to Santa Claus the Movie ) really did a good job as a fictional movie. Santa Claus The Movie did feature the perils of commercialism. Santa Claus was portrayed as a generous toymaker who loves ...

When I'm Watching Certain Shows To BASH IT As A Guilty Pleasure

I was thinking about why in the world did I ever watch Beast Morphers when I dislike (or maybe even hate) Power Rangers all the while I refuse to call it bootleg (due to legalities). It's also no secret that I've been having a hard time staying afloat with Super Sentai after Go-Busters ended . I felt Kyoryuger was a mess and so was Dino Charge even if they've got great stunts that place Ninninger and Ninja Steel to infinite amounts of shame. I felt ToQGer (awarded as it is) isn't the best of Yasuko Kobayashi's works and the crossover with Kamen Rider Gaim is still a borefest. I'm not old-fashioned but I refuse to think newer is always better. Instead, it's all about if something new develops results. I watched Beast Morphers and had a degree of enjoyment. I tried not to think about Go-Busters (which I think is way better). Super Sentai had a few good entries but I'd say Zyuohger and Zenkaiger aren't good anniversary seasons. Junko Komura handled no...

Did Austin St. John (Jason Lawrence Geiger) Follow In Kamen Rider Scammer-1's Footsteps?

This really is HEARTBREAKING even if I dislike Power Rangers . I guess Toei Ltd. and Saban Entertainment have a fair share of problems. For instance, Tori Matsuzaka confessed to having low pay during Shinkenger - something that the cast of Mighty Morphin' also went through. Hearing that that Austin St. John (or rather Jason Lawrence Geiger as he's actually called) was allegedly involved in a COVID-19 scam . This incident reminds me of some incidents such as wayward Kamen Rider former cast members .  This incident reminds me of a financial scam by Shunsuke Takasugi who I dub as Kamen Rider Scammer-1. Right now, Shunsuke is either missing or serving jail time but he did disappear last 2017. Did he go to America and orchestrate this scheme? I wouldn't be surprised if Shunsuke is among the arrested (right now) or if he masterminded the scheme. Though, my assumption is too far-fetched and should be dismissed as nothing more than wild speculation. Speaking of which - I find Kamen...
