One of my favorite cover songs "Take Me to Your Heart" (which was done by Michael Learns to Rock) was based on Jacky Cheung's "Kiss Goodbye". What's not too surprising is that the lyrics of a proposal love song was taken from a sad love song. Shocked? For me, not really. Cover songs tend to change moods a lot. Cheung covered Ariel Rivera's hit song "Sana Kahit Minsan" (Hopefully At Least Once) which leads me to wonder how many more Chinese songs have Filipino covers too?
