The Use Of Chinese Pinyin VS. Traditional Phonetics

Pinyin is used in every Chinese dialect. Though, the one I'm familiar with is Mandarin though I'm afraid that ethnic linguicide is affecting Cantonese, Hokkien, and other Chinese dialects. Mandarin is still used in Taiwan as the national language even though their shows would sprinkle the Taiwanese dialect in some instances. Although I'm having issues with China as a political entity - I still sympathize with the people who are but victims of the Chinese Communist Party. Taiwan or the Republic of CHINA still uses Chinese pinyin even if they have declared themselves independent from the People's Republic of China. A lot of people are actually reading pinyin wrong. It's pretty much much how J and Que are misread by foreigners. A lot of people unfamiliar with the Chinese language misread it. So, what's the big point? If j in Tagalog is actually read as a softer h where Juan is read as Huan with a softer h - z is read as tsai or a softer chu. That means Ken Zhu ...

Satirical News: China Requests Philippines To Hand Over Antonio Trillanes IV As Part Of Peace Talks

The arrest of Antonio Trillanes IV and his post of "temporary bail" now reached the Chinese government's ears. Chinese Justice Minister Fu Zheng Hua is destined to meet with Filipino Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra regarding Antonio Trillanes IV as a possible exchange tool for peace talks. Chinese Justice Minister Fu issued an official statement that the Chinese government is willing to surrender its claim to Spratlys in exchange for Trillanes and his friends. It was uncovered by the Chinese Justice Department that Trillanes himself was guilty of several drug transactions in China. He was in fact helpful in helping Chinese triad members bring their wares all the way from China to the Philippines. Filipino Justice Secretary Guevarra is more than willing to accept the negotiation concerning Trillanes. Philippine President Rodrigo R. Duterte was willing to set in a new arrangement to meet with Chinese Justice Minister Fu regarding Trillanes' fate. President Duter...

It's The Chinese Lantern Festival

It's the 15th day of the first Lunar Month and it's the first full moon of the Lunar Year. This is the final celebration of the Chinese New Year but it's not a holiday in some places.  One legend has it that a crane landed on a village in China. The villagers hunted it down without realizing it belonged to the Jade Emperor -- the highest Elder God. He wanted to crush the village but one of his daughters devised a plan. The elder goddess decided to suggest the village to hang red lanterns and blow up fireworks. This somewhat appeased the Jade Emperor and decided not to rain down the judgment of the Elder Gods for his favorite crane. Hmmm... the Elder Gods can be so petty can't they?  Another story involves Hong Jun Lao Zu or the Ancestor of the Great Balance. If I'm not wrong his birthday falls down on the 9th day of the 9th Lunar Month -- or Senior Citizen's Day in China. The creature known as Nian was terrorizing the village. By having red colored cl...

Satirical News: President Duterte And President Xi Agree To Give Spratlys To #TindigPilipinas

The events of #TindigPilipinas' rather "huge" crowd which could not even fill EDSA led to a new proposal. President Rodrigo R. Duterte decided to have a meeting with President Xi Jinping of China. The battle between China and the Philippines for Spratlys escalated during the term of former president Nobita Aquino. Now it is time to make the most unbelievable peace settlement. If China cannot have Spratlys then neither can any other country was the response. President Xi decided to come on a new agreement with President Duterte that neither Philippines nor China will own Spratlys. Instead, they will give it to the members of #TindigPilipinas to become the new separate state. "If you cannot accept me as your president, you are free to leave. We are in a democracy and you have the right to leave. Right now, me and President Xi have agreed to give you Spratlys which will become your own new separate state. I don't care what you name it. You can have it. The Chines...

It's The Year Of The Fire Monkey

This year is the year of the Fire Monkey so I just thought this year might also be the year of Sun Wukong. Sun Wukong's story was based on a monkey's quest for enlightenment, his misadventure at the Celestial Heavens, his conflict with the Elder Gods for supposed disobedience and how his quest to find the sutras allowed him to become a god in the Chinese pantheon. I felt like that Sun Wukong should have been the main character instead of Shujinko in Mortal Kombat Deception. It could have been cooler if Onaga the Dragon King faced off against him instead of Shujinko. The Konquest Mode of Mortal Kombat Deception might have been better off with Sun Wukong finding the scrolls and the kamidogu, claiming it was going to help him reach Nirvana. Instead, it would allow the cruel Onaga to return and reclaim power. I would have probably wanted the monkey king to be the victor against Onaga during Deception. In Eto Ranger, the monkey character is Monk. During Monk's time in the J...

It's Time For Midautumn Festival AKA The Chinese Harvest Festival

Well it's time for the Midautumn Festival to which the celebration commemorates the middle of Autumn. I'll admit, I've only celebrated it with my fellow Tsinoys or Chinos. So what's the Midautumn Festival for you may ask? There are many reasons for the celebration to take place. The celebration started around in the Shang Dynasty and that it was the celebration when the harvest was completed, hence the harvest moon. The celebration gained popularity during the Tang Dynasty and Emperor Xuang Tong popularized the festival, after he supposedly explored the Moon Palace, popularized the festival. Others state that ancient Chinese celebrated the harvest with the moon where they would have family bonding. It was given some political significance when the Han Chinese overthrew the Mongolians during Mid-Autumn, ending their rule and establishing the Ming Dynasty.

Satirical News: Neri Cuckonares Submits "New Filipino Heroes Bill"

Neri Cuckonares of Bobo Muna after he wrote the "Respect For Filipino Time" bill  decided to file a new bill called "New Filipino Heroes" bill which he believes would strengthen Filipino nationalism.  Due to the current battle between the Philippines and China over Spratlys, Cuckonares filed the "New Filipino Heroes" bill as hopeful retaliation. Based on the new bill written by Rep. Cuckonares, the following provisions were written: Due to the row with China and that they have executed Sally Villanueva, Elizabeth Batain and Ramon Credo who were framed up by Chinese syndicates, that their innocence was not respected... the Philippines will declare them as national heroes for the country. In respect of Edz Ello's case in Singapore, Flor Contemplacion will be declared a heroine for the Philippines as a symbol against tyranny and oppression. Any Filipino hero with Chinese blood will be removed from the list of heroes.   For any Filipino who got ex...

My Great Wall of China Experience!

Back in Summer of 2007, I remembered going to a family trip to China but I haven't gone to Fujian where my ancestors came from.  The places I can remember are Shenzhen, Shanghai and Beijing.  Speaking of Beijing, I remembered how our tour guide warned us about the appearance of swindlers in the Forbidden City area so remember, DO NOT ENTERTAIN anybody who just sells you anything.  Now for my experience at the Great Wall of China which there was once that lie it can be seen on the moon which is NOT true. Remembering the dark history behind the Great Wall, it was built by slaves of the first Emperor of China who is known as Qin Shi Huang.  In spite of its dark history, today it has become a tourist spot due to the magnificent architecture which according to some is worth 30 or more pyramids.  The whole place was a mountainous retreat from the rather busy traffic of Beijing.  The whole scenery is truly breathtaking to behold. The higher you go, the more s...

It's Hard For Me To Totally Boycott China!

Yes China is so hard to boycott... thanks to these girls! I'll admit that it's hard for me to boycott China even during the time I had my American dream .  Now I usually boycott Chinese products because of product safety (and choosing to use Taiwanese or Hong Kong products instead or locally made Chinese product if I wanted products born out of Chinese influence) but it's really impossible to boycott Made in China.  So what did I think about trying to boycott China as a Filipino-Chinese?  Impossible! So why am I saying it's easy for me to boycott Chinese products?  Well blame the loose customs who are very easy to bribe and the fake Chinese goods that were OUTLAWED in China by their government end up getting sold in the Philippines like the melamine milk scandal and currently fake rice and fake noodles.  If those Chinese crooks did their livelihood in China, they would end up in the chopping board.  For Chinese brands, it's very easy for me to actually...

Easy To Boycott Chinese Brands But Not Made In China!

Chinese brands are usually very easy to identify like Hwawei, Haier and Tsingtao while others like Lenovo are Alibaba are not so obvious - just Google for Chinese brands and you'll know what to avoid.  Some research would tell you which is a Chinese brand and for one, I personally don't like Chinese brands as much as Japanese or Taiwanese.  I still have had my own issues ever since the 2008 Melamine Scandal - even the Chinese government admits they are not out of the blue with all the dirt the previous administrations left behind. Now it's time to talk about Made in China.  I don't want to sound like Alan Impurisima who is using similar words as antonyms like "advice" and "order" when both are pretty similar.  When you are advised to leave, you must leave.  When you are ordered to leave, you must leave.  Likewise, made in China is when you produce any product unit in China.  I mean, have you ever observed imported brands that are made in the Phili...

I'll Continue Going Against The Yulin Festival For Public Health Concerns!

I am frequently disgusted at the thought of eating dog meat maybe because I'm a dog lover.  However this is more than just a personal issue to why I am against the Yulin Festival aside from the cruelty, it's also for the public health concern. It's not just about me and pets, it's about public health concern. You can go ahead and argue "But it's tradition." but as said, certain traditions must drop and I am glad that the Chinese government is taking action.  Meanwhile, it's best to keep an eye on Stinky Soliman because she might use dog meat, gutter oil and fake rice as relief goods for any upcoming disaster. So what's with me and Yulin?  I hate to say it but civilized Chinese are losing their beloved pets no thanks to inconsiderate people who kidnap pets for no reason but to please their cruelty.  I really also thought about the HEALTH CONCERNS as to why Yulin Festival is also bad for public health.  It just reminded me of why I'm against m...

Horrible Lost in Translation Signs... MORE FUN IN CHINA?!

Having gone to China for a week tour, it simply isn't that surprising that my ancestral country (I do have ancestors from Mainland China) has all the awkward signs.  Stopping by Hong Kong (which I prefer over China) and having gone to Singapore (I was 13 that time), I hardly see any signs to what you are about to see.  Now I've been selective in showing these pictures because some of them have profanity.  Below are pictures I selected from here . It was funny how I landed over to a sign like this somewhere in Beijing.  In fact, I hate to think how my low Mandarin proficiency was a problem.  I think the correct translation should be, "Ripe with greenstuffs" NOT "Rape with greenstuffs". Since when was a fire extinguisher a hand grenade?! Since when did this EVER become an order to slip and fall down carefully?  The warning sign should say, "Be careful or you will slip down!"

Pictures of Chinese Training Their Cops

Now only if the Pinoy National Patola will get THIS kind of training... hahahaha!  I'm pretty impressed with how these people are very well trained of people qualified to be cops!  Well I would suggest sending a Kung Fu master to shape everyone in the Pinoy National Patola! Practicing martial arts: These women in action WILL kick butt though I think they stand out better in strategizing since women usually have sharper minds! And we have these men, unlike the PNP, learning their kung fu! Now only if I can find a picture of the girls doing this too... Long Fist! Not just limited to the field, they are taught to fight in dirty situations!

Philippine's 60/40 vs. China's New Change in Foreign Business Ownership

Some people say that Filipinos should feel blessed about the 60/40 mandatory rule which is a joint venture agreement but what most don't realize is that after the 1987 constitution, the damage left behind by the Macoy Administration had worsened.  In fact, Nobitacracy continues the damage (while conveniently blaming Gloria Abobo for everything) which is really bad. The 60/40 rule states that every foreign corporation must have 60% to be owned by the Philippines and 40% to be owned by the foreign corporation. Though it sounds good in the name of "protectionism" but the huge problem is that, it's what basically was a problem in China before.  China tried to take control of every foreign corporation that way but later, Chinese business policies allowed a consideration of 100% ownership for certain firms within the Special Economic Zone.  China later dropped the mandatory China owns it more and has given options for more ownership of the foreign firm but what about th...

Satirical News: China Sends New Agent Codenamed "Chun Li" to Beat Up Nobita's Sister Krisis Before She Can Run for President!

Well it was confirmed that new Chinese agent known as Chun Li (not to be confused with the fictional Street Fighter character) actually was one of the people involved in Spratlys.  After Damulag had beaten up President Nobita, VP Jejemon Beanay, Unggoy Ejercito, Juan Ponce Enriche, Tito Stupid, Bongbong Bastos, Ramon Reviler Jr. and Toady Casino, it was time to beat up Krisis Aquino and her supporters both men and women alike.  Chun Li is only 26 years old but she can kick ass really hard and it was proven when Krisis' bodyguards were beaten up in less than a second. What was last known was that Krisis was last seen with her praning attitude, getting mad and trying to promote more protectionism for the Philippines.  Worse, Krisis is running for president despite having ZERO experience in politics.  But for Pinoys it does not matter anyway- after all popularity wins.  Knowing how much trouble Nobita caused China by asking for pardon of the culprits who caused ...

Some Interesting Places in Beijing at China to Visit!

Last 2007, going there in a tour was quite fun.  Eventually I got into a few interesting places namely: The Summer Palace was of the Ming Dynasty.  This was pretty much a place to be.  Well we never did ride on the marble boat and sad to say, there were some Chinese swindlers but they were fortunately apprehended by the police guarding the place.  That's been a lot of decent law enforcement in China.  I thought it was a pretty interesting place and it was also near the Ming Tombs which gave me a yawn. The Great Wall of China was built by thousands of slaves under the rule of Shih Huang Ti.  The whole place was a big marvel, sadly it was built by slaves.  Some say it can be seen from the moon.  What I thought about the whole place upon arriving there was there were interesting souvenirs and of course, it was a spot for climbers.  I may not be the athletic type but I pretty much dared to climb up to the finish line.  Every last spot ...
