Pretty much, this picture says much about the explosive revelations that open minded Power Rangers fans can either handle or not handle which I've observed through the decades and I am NOT putting this in my Super Sentai blog due to its redundancy there:
Some may have started to think way back then that Power Rangers was an original work by Saban back in the 90s. But again, those were just kids who watched EVERYTHING on TV for the sake of watching it and they could care less about Power Rangers or Super Sentai. Well they don't bother to read credits, pretty much a problem really. Heck, even some Super Sentai fans can be too lazy to read the credits while they sing to the ending song. But they make a later discover that...
Super Sentai came first before Power Rangers. I guess such people are TOO LAZY to do research. Some of them jump into conclusions like, "Super Sentai is fake and Power Rangers is the real thing." when they are BOTH real deals.
Some may think that Power Rangers came first before Super Sentai but one might want to examine these facts during the earlier days that proves that Super Sentai came first if they take a careful look at some of these facts:
1.) Rita Repulsa was used via Bandora footage from Zyuranger. I would like to raise the issue up of Rita's repeated headaches were nothing more than replaying Bandora's headaches from Zyuranger TOO MUCH. Notice the lips of Rita Repulsa DO NOT match with the dubbing. I guess it had to do with the fact they couldn't find a regular actress to play the part permanently and two, Zyu2 footage was later produced (Soga Machiko still appeared during the time Lord Zedd appeared which I speculate that he was a rejected design by Toei). Also Scorpina kept mysteriously disappearing due to how she was used in Zyuranger. Sadly, Saban apparently gets too dependent on permissions Toei holds on him.
2.) They could observe that EVERY TIME Trini morphed, some footage were obviously having her turned into a MALE. I'm aware of male stuntmen playing female characters but they put some stuffing to make it look like they're female and they choose men of slimmer build. That was a problem with most of the seasons with the "she's a man in Japan" trope going on in Power Rangers due to some cultural differences maybe towards yellow?! I don't know really because I think yellow and blue aren't restricted to specific genders. Most of the yellow rangers who were male in Japan become female in the adaptation. It's something right now that I'm trying to work on how Boi and Trini can interact in my fan fic.
3.) In Power Rangers in Space, the JAPANESE text from Megaranger really got inserted into the show. Really? Were they too lazy to edit or what? Well there was the decency to credit the Super Sentai seasons in the credits section (which again, most people are too lazy to read them!). Hee hee, why are people so lazy to read credits? XP I was well aware of the fact that Super Sentai came first... but I just thought that not seeing it properly. Or was Saban trying to convince the audience that Japan will soon outdo the U.S. in space technology and that Zordon actually bought his technology from Japan?!
NOT every Power Rangers season is a copy/paste of themes or some seasons of Power Rangers seasons can be more original. For example, they might get misled into believing Megaranger is a space themed show until they do research they discover it's all about technological powers motif carried by five teenagers who were accidentally gathered by fate or Gingaman doesn't take place in another galaxy like Lost Galaxy hee hee. They might even discover the apparently self-contained continuity of Super Sentai in contrast to Power Rangers' continuity heavy (which does create a LOT of plotholes like in Forever Red!) like Zyuranger, Dairanger, Kakuranger, Ohranger, Carranger and Megaranger are ALL cast changed seasons in contrast to that really dragging Zordon arc.
Darker and edgier storylines. Really, I even got shocked when I discovered that Burai died in Zyuranger in contrast to Tommy living on to become the White Ranger. Super Sentai had a couple of deaths- Daigoro Oume/Kiranger II, Kensaku Shiraishi/Battle Cossack I, Mika Koizumi/Yellow Four I, Gai Yuki/Black Condor (good thing Gai Ikari didn't die in Gokaiger!), Burai/Dragon Ranger, the first Bullblack (that NEVER happened in Lost Galaxy), Naoto Takizawa/Time Fire (well Eric was rumored to supposedly die in Time Force but the script got rewritten at the last minute), Mikoto Nakadai/Abare Killer, Rio and Mele. Pretty much, this is a real shocker to them especially if it's their favorite characters. In my case, my favorite Zyuranger is Burai and it's okay for me to like him, even if he died! Sideline: Please note Burai and Mei were NEVER lovey dovey!
So Kou's a kid too?! For me, it's not a shocker but for them it is. Maybe they were expecting somebody like Burai but no they had to find themselves thinking Kou is "Justin disgracing Tommy".
Super Sentai can REALLY that violent as well and you thought Power Rangers was already violent enough. Even bleeding happens in severe amounts. Talk about the bloody death of Naoto Takizawa.
Super Sentai tends to have some teasing scenes. Do they SHOW that to children? Well maybe they don't get shocked at short shorts and leg distractions (Kimberly's fan service was SO distracting) but this? Perversity is also very present too.
It's all about humor. In Power Rangers, I'll admit that the humor dried out so much during Kalish era. There were some funny moments in Power Rangers but Super Sentai really knows how to use extremely cartoony humor especially among its members.
The fact that Kamen Rider and Super Sentai actually belong to different universes. They have seen Saban's Mashed Rider with MMPR, so maybe they think that they also belong to the same continuity when they don't. In fact, Decade called the Shinkenger World as the "World without Riders" during the crossover. I guess this also shocks them too. They might even discover that Super Sentai and Power Rangers like to copy from each other.
Pretty much, it can be a shocker huh? Well all I can say is, it really requires an open mind. Too bad for those Power Rangers purists, they are REALLY missing so much! I may be a Super Sentai fan BUT I don't pick on you Power Rangers fans, I really respect it as well because it helps Toei gets its money via royalties from Saban and Bandai. Without Super Sentai, Power Rangers can't exist so they really need to see the reason why the whole franchise exists and respect it as its own. However it doesn't bother me too much to call Super Sentai as "the original Power Rangers" though if you want to ask questions about Super Sentai, FEEL FREE to ask me.
