I remembered another song that left an earworm with me was the song "When I Hear Applause". I had no idea what its title was back then. This song keeps getting sung in Chinese restaurants. If there's any reason why something gets underappreciated - it's the language barrier. It's pretty much how Super Sentai (or any non-English media) can get underappreciated until English subtitles came. The dawn of subtitles really has an effect on people. It gives a new room to appreciate something new or old. Right now, there are legit ways to get subtitled non-English shows such as Netflix, legit DVDs, and the like. So, how did the dawn of subtitles finally affect English-speaking people who enjoy watching shows in a language that they can't understand?  Some people now prefer subs instead of dubs Back then, I can't forget how I watched Toku dubbed in Tagalog or other non-English shows dubbed in Tagalog. Who can remember the Telesuccess Productions' English dubs such as the Bioman dub? Watching the shows in their original Japanese with English subtitles made me see a lot of translation errors. Here's a song that gave me an earworm wondering what the title was for years. Fortunately, there's some technology that helps us find an OLD SCHOOL song. Google voice search is amazing. This song is called "Awaken from a Dream" by Sarah Chen - also the same song that launched her career and kept her popular even after her retirement. I could remember how I heard this song in Chinese restaurants more often than not. Granted, I grew up in the Philippines so Chinese isn't my first-hand language. One of the many terms in video gaming you ran across is the term "boss". The term boss is usually defined as somebody above you or as your superior. Your manager is your boss, the company owner is your boss' boss. It's also important to note that a boss is not the boss. A manager is a boss but he's not the boss. The branch manager is answerable o the overall boss as a lower boss or placed in charge of a certain group of people. Video games do have the term for the boss or somebody you need to defeat either in the middle of the stage or at the end of the stage. A video game boss is termed as a significant computer-controlled enemy in contrast to the minions or baddies you defeat.  Why do I think they've been called bosses? It's because a boss is someone who's in charge. You are dealing with stages filled with minions (who can be compared to employees) while the stage boss is equivalent to a supervisor (in the case of mid-bosses) or the manager (in the c...

Who says you need to be a "Pure-Pino" to appreciate Filipino culture? Catriona Gray is only half but she does appreciate her other half that well. I'm just compelled to do a bit of a review of Filipino history back in high school. Though I admit -- I actually didn't like the civics and culture subject back in elementary because of my on/off American superiority mentality back then.
